A subsidiary of the Katter Development Company, the Metropolitan Construction Group of Long
Island's name is synonymous with quality construction. For almost 20 years, the Metropolitan
Construction Group of L.I. has been active in the construction of commercial, institutional,
industrial, adaptive re-use, renovation and multi-tenant residential facilities throughout the
metropolitan New York area.
To sustain high quality, the Metropolitan Construction Group of L.I. has developed project
control methods that give each owner the opportunity to maximize and achieve their project goals.
In order to optimize the effectiveness of building a new facility, or renovating an existing one, the
Metropolitan team meets with the client, the project architect and engineers to help establish a
construction program that suits the owner's requirements and can be accomplished at affordable
and competitive rates. The Metropolitan team working with the design professionals provides the
client with the necessary design input and value engineering which is essential to keep the project
on schedule and within target budgets.
Each project taken on by the Metropolitan team has the entire organization lending its expertise
and support. Every building that the Metropolitan Construction Group of L.I. organization accepts
as a project is given a project manager. This Individual is responsible for all phases and aspects of
the project. Working with the project manager is the project superintendent who assists him with
important details and follow-up, so essential for timely completion. In addition to daily oversight of
the Metropolitan on-site office at your project, the project superintendent coordinates the daily work
to help insure that the work contracted for is done correctly and efficiently. Supporting these
individuals are project coordinators, our controller, as well our top notch administrative staff all
utilizing Timberline, our construction management software, to monitor all aspects of the project
including financial transactions, contracts and payment requisitions.
As a continuing checks and balances procedure, this team meets on a weekly basis with the
principals of the Metropolitan Construction Group. These meetings provide the necessary level of
communication and awareness required for continuing the quality and service the Metropolitan
Construction Group of L.I. is noted for. As required, additional meetings are held with the design
team and contractors to implement policies determined by the Metropolitan Construction Group
staff meetings. If troublesome situations should arise during any phase of construction, this project
team can instantaneously step in to efficiently resolve them so that the client receives the best
product and service possible.
To expand its services to clients, the Metropolitan Construction Group of Long Island has
diversified the types of projects completed. Presently, industrial, commercial, institutional, multi-
tenant residential, high-end interiors and sophisticated manufacturing facilities are all within its
repertoire of project types. Additionally, land and building development are active aspects of the
